You might consider sending a private message to Fish Chris. Chris uses spinning gear exclusively and has a lot of experience catching big fish of all species. 25 mono on spinning gear can get kind of unmanageable (coily and twisted) Perhaps a setup with 50 or 65lb braid and a 25 or 30lb florocarbon or mono leader would work better for you.
