There is a "pay" lake in South San Jose...can't remeber the name of it.I've never fished it, but I heard lots of guys talk about it. I guess it has fairly reasonable day rates and they keep it pretty well stocked with a wide variety of game fish. Might be your best bet for your son to catch some trout.
