I hit the spots that look that they might be holding fish or where it seems like a good ambush spot. Either that or I know where the fish have hit before and just hit those spots for a while or the whole day then move on to the next. If there are baitfish around I just stick around where the baitfish are and follow them the best I can. At spots, I will cast along the shoreline, then at a 45 degree angle, then straight out, then at a 135 degree angle, then along the other shoreline. I keep doing this til I get a hit. Plus it gives the fish a chance to hear what all the commotion is about.
