is really turning on--my prostaff have been getting some nice swimbait fish. The 6 inch Hudd is really killing the fish. I do not have much confidence in swimbaits under 8 inches, but I am tempted to buy half a dozen to try at biwa.
Here is a 6.80 bass and a huge carp that completely swallowed the 6 inch singled hooked Huddleston.
How is the six incher working in Cali\other spots in the USA?

I live in far north Cal. and the six inch Hudd. has been working pretty good for me. Got some big spots on it, a 6.3# and a number of 4+ largemouth. They deffinetly get bit. They also get pounded by 2 and 3 #ers which tears your baits up pretty fast. Kinda sucks having a $25-$30 bait get toar up by 2#ers. Its tough to complain about a bait that catches to many fish :-).

The forum does not like it if there are special characters like < or ) in the names of your images. If you name the photos without those characters they should post OK.

The 6" hudd is a beautiful lure, I have not used it much though yet. I'm still waiting patiently for Ken to release the big ones.

Sorry Rob. I thought I was posting pics the same way as my first post. I will try to figure out what the difference is.
The big ones? I have the regular 8 inchers (the 05 is my fav) and one that is 12 inches. Is there going to be a bigger one? That sounds interesting.
Rob-you need to come here to fish Ikehara and Biwa. At Ikehara on dude got 4 over ten (certified weights) with a 15-2, site fishing.
I think you could tear it up with your abilities. I will sit in the back of the boat and catch my usual "small" seven and eight pounders:-)

From what I gather, there are 10" hudds, and have been for a long time. I hear the occasional rumor of a really big one, like 14-16" style. I would die to have any of those.

Over the years I've hacked away at my 12" hudd, making endless mods to try to get it bit. I get a lot of followers on the lure, and have had a few 6lbers take shots at it, but the bigger fish won't eat it for some reason. I think it doesn't move right in the water or something.

My theory is that the open mouth makes the lure roll funny. Similar to the Rago Real Trout which has an open mouth - it causes the lure to move weird in the water - slipping through the water, rather than moving naturally. I think the lure makers want to make open mouth lures because they look cool on the shelf, but I am not a fan. I digress...

I'm sure Ken is plenty busy making the regular trout, the shad, huddlebug, etc. But I still anxiously await the big boy trout lures. Maybe they wouldn't sell well because the general tournament angling public wouldn't want them, but I would be first in line to buy.
