I think it's about time for some more night time toad hunting at Coyote Lake. Hot weather, perfect moon phase (according to Murphy).

What's up with night fishing there? I know it's legal but can you bring a kickboat or anything like that?

You're not supposed to kickboat there at night. As far as I know all the rangers leave at 10 PM though. At any rate the chances of getting caught are a little less than nill and if you do they're just going to tell you to get off. That is if they care, most don't mind.

Yesterday there was a dude fishing from a pontoon boat throwing a 9 inch MS Slammer on a trout spinning rod with 15 lb spiderwire. Said he caught a 10 pounder on it Wed, along with many in the 5-10 lb range. I guess it's kinda like a wimpy crankin rod. Whatever works. I saw him get ripped on it at the dam, but his drag was way too lose. Another 12 pounder was caught yesterday by someone else.

damn where the heck am I???
You are due for a good one on the slammer Nicolo. That thing works. Tell the guy with the spinning rod to mix in a real rod and some 2/0 gammies. I need to go over there.
