2050, Swimbait Info Updates
Posted by swimbait, Sun Jan-05-03 08:48 PM
I updated the Big Plug/Swimbait article with some pics of some of the new baits. Generic Swimbait, Mission Fish Sidewinder and Popper are on there. I figure if it's in Bass West it's no secret. There are so many new baits it's hard to keep up! No pics of Charlie, Eagle, Optimum or Parmu yet, but I'll update when I get some pics of those and have the time.

Here's the links

And here's some bonus shots

Have you fished that popper yet? I'm just curious to see if it actually needs to be popped in order to produce action or could be walked on the surface.

Nope just got it. I don't think it's going to do me much good for a few months. But summertime it could be most interesting.

The poping version is just like an oversized pop-r that looks like a trout. Should be a deadly night fishing bait.

Rob, if you look a little closer at the sidewinder (aka 14.6) You will also see a marking that says "long" I wonder what that could mean:) Mike Long was instramental in testing and developing this bait and thus Mickey put it on the bait.

Just thought I'd throw that in, and give props where they are due!

The Sidewinder swims like no other swimbait on the market. Unlike the rest of the plastic swimbaits, the action starts at the head and then the rest of the body follows. There couldnt be a more perfect name for the bait. If it had rattles, you could expect to see it cruising across the desert. In short, it swims like a snake.

It is a very versitile bait that can be fished at almost any depth. The only thing it wont do is come up to the surface and "wake" across like a scared trout. It is more of a slow presentation bait.

The only place I know that have them right now are, Anglers Marine in Anaheim, and Lakeside Bait and Tackle in Lakeside. Sizes are small, medium, and large (7", 9" and 10 1/2")

Should be readily available in the next few months. Right now they are working on some more molds and colors.

When you run across them, buy a few, you wont regret it!!! I think they are going to be around the standard price, 20-25$ somewhere around there.

no,

As of now, you need to get them through Anglers or Lakeside B&T. I know Anglers Marine will ship to you if you call and ask. They just need a credit card # to pay over the phone. There # is 714-666 2628.

Parmu Swimbait

Description ~ Swims like an Osprey.. but the tail kicks a little harder. They added an additional split ring in the tail for those who choose to add a stinger. They offer a good selection of colors too.

Where ~ I got these two from Kevin's secret stash (j/k) ~ Bass World West.. http://www.bassworldwest.com/

Cost ~ $16.00-$17.00
