2086, Storing and transporting the big lures ???
Posted by Fish Chris, Sat Jan-11-03 07:58 AM
I'm looking for some kind of divided plastic boxes to hold all of my big swimbaits..... How do you guys do this ?
The idea of the small divided Plano's in a large soft zippered bag works great for smaller stuff, but I am starting to get a pretty good collection of 9" to 12" lures going now.

Any suggestions ?

Peace,
Fish

I like to store my trout plugs and swimbaits in a Plano 3700. I have a couple of them and I just keep them in my backpack when I go out.

Fish Chris. Shimano makes a deep stowaway type box that I use for some of my bigger baits. Adjustable inserts and so on. My only concern is the closure snaps, they seem weak. Shimano has come out with some newer boxes that have a lifetime gaurentee on the closures, so look too see if they make those in the deeper style. They work great!!! They allow Ospreys to lay on the flat back and keep the tails straight!! Check with Chris @ Bass World West in Tustin, CA. He frequents this site under the name of "CJ". Take care and God Bless, Nicholas

The best way to store these swimbaits is to leave them in their respective plastic cases. While in the case, the bait can't move around. I've tried everything and believe me, leaving the baits in their cases is the most practical way. If that doesn't work, I operate a swimbait storing facility in my boat. For a nominal fee, I will house your swimbaits and promise they won't be returned with bite marks all over them.

I agree with Double Trouble, leave them in the cases they came in. However, if you have quite a load of them, I find just taking a box, a cardboard box, works just great. A plano box is good but you can probably only fit several of your lures.
Now if you only have or carry with you a few that is good but if you want to bring them all just throw em in a cardboard box.
