......OK, but about tuning the Castaic.... If bending the line tie eye did
not work, try hanging it by the line, and see if the head meets the body at
a slight angle. I have had a couple that did. If so, try removing the body
and re-gluing it. You might even trim a tiny bit of soft plastic off of "the
high side" where it is attached to the hard plastic head. For better (or
hopefully not, for worse), re-attaching the soft plastic body, or a
replacement body, always changes the action. Trimming one edge of the bill
might work, but it might mess it up, causing you to have to first obtain,
then replace the bill..... certainly a last resort.
Finally, if you have one of the older ones, I hate to say it, but the new
ones swim so much nicer...... only problem is, now I am hearing "again" that
Castaic is getting ready to go out of business.....
Sorry to throw you a curve ball on this subject..... That's just where I
am at right now with this lure.
