Got this 28lb striper at lake Mohave,Willow beach area.It slurped a 9" stocker down, then the sleigh ride began, lasted a couple minutes then had that phatty between my legs.Totally cheese grated the head off the stocker, and tore half the tail off.At first when I had next to the yak I thought I had a new pb,but just missed it by 2lbs.The head on this dude was huge, and only had one troutsky in his belly, for how big it was .Oh and it was a great shore lunch Phishnuts and I had that evening, fresh on the grill after eating nothin but camples soup for two days. But it was a kick in the a$$ paddleing up and down that river for 4 days and nights,Im still recovering.

Very nice Striper! They sure can shred they plastic, can't they. Did you try any hard baits? Where did she come from? Can you describe the location?
Tight lines,

What a beauty! I think I read about you in this weeks WON. Hopefully I'll make my first trip to the "Land of Giants" in March sometime. Are they starting to fill up again on trout after the long delay?

Nice little fishy there ;-)

Your right, that sucker tasted sooo good.Cherrios and soup gets real old real fast!

I thought it was going to be 30+ for sure when I first saw it, can't wait to see what a 40 looks like :o

I got it casting to shore, nothin on the troll. Its all about being in the right place at the right time.I troll hardbaits more and cast with a soft type bait.It probley dosent matter if I say where I got it at since those fish move around so much but lets just say around mm 51.There was alot of pressure out there, with 2 or 3 guys running guide services.I really was surprised when the bite came I have alot more confidence with the clear water at night.

That's a really nice Striper ! Congrats !
Continued success to you,

Peace,
Fish Chris

PS, My best Striper(s) is also 30 lbs(X's 2 :-) One was caught on heavy gear and a 14" Split tail.... not much fight.... but the other was caught while fly lining a 6" split tail on 8 lb mono and light action spinning gear ! Yeeehaaaa ! Took about 25 minutes.

BTW, In case anybody gives you a hard time about holding that one out for the photo...... Just tell them what I do.... "It wouldn't matter if you held it behind your back.... It still weighed 28 lbs.... and.... have they ever caught a 28 lb Striper" ? :-)
