Floated Del Valle yesterday, ended up with over 20 fish, mostly senko and jig fish. Caught one around 7 lbs with an EBRPD tag in it, wondered if anyone knows what the tag is all about. A ranger I talked to said that it might be one of the Florida Strain, but I dunno. Any thoughts?

I don't know anything about the area, but after doing a short search I found out that...

EBPRD=East Bay Regional Parks District

I read where in the past while doing habitat preservations, the parks department and fish and game tagged certain fish before relocating them. They referred to times when fish had strayed into areas that were not fit for longevity. So, they tagged the fish in that area and put them somewhere else. They mainly referred to Coho and Chinook, but I guess it's possible they could have tagged bass as well.

I've caught a few there with the tags too. Posted in the boathouse is a request to record weight or length, location of catch, release the fish, and report the info to the kiosk attendant. I suppose the purpose may be to track growth patterns and such.
