Nathan, fear/alarm pheromones are only produced by skin/injured fish. And it is species-specific. A alarm pheromone produced by injured prey would warn the same prey, but the same pheromone would attract a predator. FYI, they make a feeding-based pheromone attractant for bass called Ultrabite.
