This is the second big fish we have caught that has a trout sticking out of its throat. You wonder what these fish did to eat the trout. I can't imagine it chasing down a trout in cold muddy water or they are just setting up where a trout would swim by. Who knows cause this fish was caught flipping so it was definatly a reaction bite.....BassMan

With all that pretty red lip-stick I'd say she's been eating mostly from the freshwater Lobster menu. Who know how she came to have the Trout Almondine. She probably just got lucky enough to find herself in the right place at the right time and the Trout was too stupid to run for it's life. :+ I love it when that happens.
Tight lines,

That's awesome :) Bass are the coolest.

Would you mind if I put that pic in the 'cool pics' section of the photo gallery?

I was at a seminar last year where Mike Long talked about something he had observed. He observed that when the trout plants arrived at a certain lake the really huge bass were waiting for them. They had developed sort of an internal clock to know when the trucks would arrive. As soon as the trout hit the water - the bass would knoc two trout silly - basically stunning them and then go back and devour each one. What a site that must have been.

I've seen bass knock bait fish out of the water - with the idea of turning them so that they could swallow them head first.

Awesome fish, aren't they?

does the water in Margarita clear up enough to sight fish in the spring ?
