606, this weekend looks good

High pressure and warming sun should really help this weekend's bite. North shores should have plenty of sunlight this week. Big girls should be cruising. Only down side is backside of the full moon and rising barometers.

What does everyone think??

Wes,

I'm not sure exactly what to think but I am going to find out on Saturday what's happening. I don't much like the backside of the moon either so we will see how that plays into this weekend.

Regardless we are already into the pre-spawn time for the big fish and they should be catchable on the right days. I think that the biggest fish in all California lakes will be moving shallow this month to think about spawning and maybe even spawn towards the end of the month. Weather is a big factor, but I think they get drawn up shallow no matter what the weather is. When these fish lived in Florida they spawned in January and February and you'd have to think that that gets burned into their brains to a certain extent, so when they come to California they are still going to want to spawn that time of year. I just wish you could see them better in February up here in Nor-Cal. Water in most of these lakes won't clear up for a month or three.
