If I caught the world record bass and there was no marina, or no certified scale anywhere, I would put the fish in my livewell, haul ass off the lake and start making phone calls about where the closest scale is, while I was towing the boat off the lake. You don't screw around when it comes to the world record bass. It sounds really bad, but if the fish dies, the fish dies. I'd absolutely do everything I could to keep it alive, and I'd probably feel really really bad if it died, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good question though. I'd probably be so freaked out I'd end up just sitting in the corner of my boat in the fetal position staring at the bass and muttering to myself, but ideally I'd have all my $hit together, put it in an aquarium, get all the sponsorships I wanted, make a couple mill, and live happily ever after.
