i have only four major baits so far. two huddlestons, a armageddon and the other wood bait by 3:16 that is a single broken back. BASS PRO SHOPS has a muskie rod about 7'6"long and is rates i think 4-10 ounces or 2-10 ounces. should i go for it? only 100 bucks. is this a good route.i plan on matching it with a calcutta thinking 25lb test or 30lbs. can i have your oppinion, thakx, saLTIE-

personally i would go with the Okuma Guide series "swimbait special" these rods are avaialable at tacklewerehouse for around 90- and they inclusde free shipping. Also th okumas are made for swimbaits.Check out the rod review section to hear more about this rod or just read the posts others have put up about the quality of the rod.

The Okuma rod is a great one for the price. Definitely the best rod you could get at that price for those swimbaits.

If the price is not a issue, I make a couple swimbait rods I am pretty proud of.(see Rago swimbait rod post) since you paid $400 for two 3:16 baits why skimp on a rod you can be comfortable casting all day long. Just some self promotion.

I love my Okuma swimbait rods. I have 5 of them and they will handle any swimbait. The Medhvy is perfect for smaller swimbaits(mine) and the hvy is perfct fro med swimbaits like Hudds and 3;16 and the xhvy is great for big baits. Lifetime warrenty for under $100. Cant beat that.

Hey Bro, the Rogue jr. swimbait stick is the best I think. It is super light and easy to fish all day. I recommend the Jr. swimbait stick for baits up to nine inches such as the huddleston. The rod is 7'9"loads awesome, and has just enough give for getting them hooked properly. The rod goes for about $150.00 and is worth it! Rogue also makes a Sr. swimbait stick that is 8' even but I would use the bigger one for 9" baits and bigger. Hope this helps you out, these rods have worked awesome for me and they are garanteed to be replaced if broken.
