Thanks to my good friend Mark Rogers, I recently had an opportunity to film at Lake Casitas for the show BASS Insider. Mark, Rod Thigpin (maker of the Stocker Trout) and I filmed for a couple days at the lake for a segment on trophy bass fishing that will air on EPSN2 at 5am Pacific Standard Time on Saturday June 10, 2006.

We experienced some tough post spawn fishing (and yes we filmed behind the bouy line) but we got a few fish on camera. I have not seen the show footage but there will be a focus on tips and techniques and fish care and handling in addition to the fishing footage. Hope y'all can Tivo it or record it to check it out :)

That is way cool Rob. I have been TiVo'ing that show since it started...I like the format ESPN has come up with on this show...teaches something for everyone. I will be watching.
You say it was Tough at Casitas? I keep hearing good things coming out of there...I am wanting to get out there some time....You can put a kickboat in there.:-)

No shortage of big fish coming out of Casitas. It just wasn't happening for us in the areas we were fishing. I hadn't heard they were allowing kickboats now but that's cool if they are.

I havn't been down there yet in my kickboat, but I did call about it and the Park offical told me that since kickboats fall into the same slot as Kayaks it is ok. Floattubes are another story though...I don't believe they allow them. Casitas's rules sound similar to Santa Margarita's.

if you guys manage to get it into dvd format, and rip it into your computer i can probably host it for those who are not up that early in the mornin :D

I appreciate the offer but would rather not encourage that since it's not really kosher to rip a tv show and post it online (copyright etc).

If somehow it did end up online... I wouldn't mind a link... :P :P
