hey dude,
Yes I did catch a nice 10.5 the other day :) I have those custom fields in my gallery which makes it a little different reading the captions but it has the weight on it if you go to the gallery directly and look at the thumbnail pic. I lost another nice fish that day while taking a pee, doh. lol.

Tournament fishing... yes its a dilemma trying to mix fishing for big ones and fishing for tournament fish. In 2005 I could do no wrong in either. I got 21 over 10 and won 5 team tourneys out of 10 that we fished. Last season (this year) it was the total opposite. My tournament fishing was lousy and I caught 4 over 10 so far this year. Did I do anything totally different? I don't think so... It's just the randomness of fishing. I would love to be able to do both and be successful all the time but it just doesn't always work that way.

This next season I am focusing on one primary goal which is to have a good attitude and do whatever makes me excited about fishing. When I'm excited for a trip I think about it all week, I prep my gear for hours and I go out and typically have success. When a trip becomes more of a forced march or I'm just not that excited about it, that's when I do bad. This has happened to me in big fish fishing and in tournament fishing where I just felt burnout and lack of interest. No more this year.

My plans for the coming season are vague but I think I'm going to do a fair amount of delta fishing just because I felt excited about it when I fished the b-n-t delta open. I may do more Folsom and Berryessa and I'll go fish for big ones when I feel motivated about it. I might also totally change my plans anywhere along the way if something seems exciting. Fishing should be fun deep down to the last drop. If I'm having a good time, I know I'll be happy.
