The NorCal Trophy Hunters Bass Club brought Bill Siemantel up to Sacramento to speak at our meeting tonight. He was extremely entertaining and shared a lot of trophy bass tips with the club. I was lucky enough to walk away from our raffle with a new 12" Castaic Soft bait. It was amazing to look through his photo album of big bass. There was one picture of a 4 fish - 51 pound string!
One of the baits he is really hot on is the Lindy Tiger tube. Here's a link: http://www.lindylittlejoe.com/products/lindy/tigertube.htm

I ordered two of these tubes from Lindy two weeks ago, they are lagging! Can't wait to try them out.

The demand for the tubes is so great right now that they are currently being back ordered. Bill siad that musky fisherman back east are buying them up like crazy.

Toad, do you have any idea how much that 12" soft bait weighs? That is one big bait.

Has anyone fished these tubes yet(anyone here that is) It seems to me that they are a bit pricey for a tube bait. Do they hold up well. I think I could get some quality fish out of the Delta on these but would like to know how many bites I can expect before the tube is destroyed.

I've bed fished with the tora tubes with limited success. Can't comment on how well they hold up to repeated bass attacks because I haven't caught that many fish on them. But, they do a pretty good job of pissing off bed fish. -Brian

Robbor,
The bait weighs in at 11 ounces. It's quite a hunk of plastic!

Todd,
I guess he forgot to tell you his real secret. Deadly Duo has been the tube he has had in his box for all these years. I have been at Pete's many a day when Bill has called to get more tubes. I guess it's best to promote a large company and then continue to receive baits from a local. I have used pete's tubes many times and love them, but they are hand-dipped so they are very thin, but still work great. If anybody is interested I can forward Pete's number on an email.
P.S. Bill has caught hundreds of bass over 10 mostly at castaic and Casitas. I think he is the ultimate big bait fisherman. wes
