Here's some pics of this brand new to the market bluegill imitator from Black Dog Baits. The baits have 1/0 Daiichi Hooks, a lexan tail, black/chrome finished snap ring, and taxidermy grade glass eyes. They're hand carved out of wood, measure 5.5" long and 2.5" back to belly. There's a sinker and a floating/wake model. They are just now coming available at some of the Bay Area shops. Try Walton's, Dave's Bass Shack or Fisherman's Warehouse (not sure which one(s)).

Ya, I threw it around Saturday. The action is something like the big 3:16 sidewinders if you've seen those baits in the water. The side to side motion is very wide, it moves left to right a good 8-10" and the action comes from the head of the bait, the tail just sort of follows along. There's not a lot of feel to them in your rod tip as you retrieve them but I'm sure they'll get bit. You can wake the floating model pretty good. The baits are $60.

"You can wake the floating model pretty good."

That does mean there will be non-floating models, right?

>There's a sinker and a floating/wake model.

I just ordered one from USAProShop but it didn't say anything about being a sinking or floating model. I guess that's what I get for not keeping up with this site, didn't even know to ask...
In any case, I can't wait to get it!

My Shellcracker came in today. No indication on the package as to what model it is but I'll tell you what, this thing is a work of art. I'm tempted to display it on a wall at home or work...
