so whats your favorite swimbait to fish through wood? i've found a lot of my hudd fish have come from putting the bait in a position to get it lost only to feel a thunk before the hooks catch a peice of wood. what other swimbaits come through wood well? would slammers, or that style, bounce off well?

Slammers work great and also the old school rago generic live trout.
These baits seem to reflect off the wood better them most and they get the fish pumped up.
losing high dollar baits just plain sucks but thats what it takes to trick the toads!x(

I would think swimbaits with diving lips would come through wood better than soft swimbaits. with that said, if you are having success why mess with it? Buy a lure knocker and go to work.

I'm having success but there is no reason to not try new things and see if there is a better bait that will pull bigger fish. Or in different situations get bit when my other baits arent getting bit.
My lure knocker has saved me hundreds of dollars from huddlestons, staysees, jigs...
best thing i've ever bought!

I use the 3:16 Baby Bass and twitch it over the wood on the surface. I usually get the strikes right before it gets away from the wood.
