9445, Need Swimbait Information
Posted by bassing africa, Fri Jun-15-07 01:51 AM
I'm busy with a carp and minnow swimbait. The only jighooks i had to work with was old huddleston and the Mattlures Bluegill hooks. I've re-molded the weight system to fit with the swimbaits. Now my problem is that nowhere in South Africa can one go and look at jighooks we just don't have them. So if anybody knows the sizes of the jighooks being used in the Hudd and Bluegill please let me know. Do anybody know where i can buy jig hooks online.

Thanks

Check out these sites, they sell jig hooks lead molds and plactice worm molds.

... last time saw each other was at Mteri, Zimbabwe (August 2006). How's things?

Have you considered moulding your swimbaits just with a line tie eye (no internal jig hooks)? Check out this link to see how "Fish Chris" effectively rigs the Hudd by cutting off the moulded in jig hook: http://www.trophybassonly.com/id224.htm
Otherwise I would imagine that some kind of moulded in tube or pipe (similar to the way the Ospreys were "Pro-rigged") may also be preferable to a moulded in jig hook ... Just my opinion, though.

I would like to see some of your local SA swimbaits when they are ready!

Give me a call at (033) 341-3375 or 082-903-8251 or e-mail bigbass@fastmail.fm
