Just wondering how deep some of you have gone. 60' was tops for me, the fish was only 5 lbs

All would say my SB fish have all been hooked in 25 feet or less. Who knows how deep they where when they started the follow the bait though, I will often cast into 40-70 when working a point uphill.

pretty much 10' and up for me. Although I haven't tried real deep water, there isn't much of that around my parts.

In fact all three of my DD fish have come in about 3' or less water.

Does a dink count? I had a 1 pounder attack a BBZ in roughly 30-40 feet of water.

Go big or go home!

It was either 91 or 93 feet (on a saltwater type 5 inch swimbait)

On a trout type swimbait... I have caught a few out of 50ish feet of water but not many.

I'm sure you will hear from some of the DVL guys that have caught them out of deeeeep water.

I caught a 7lb hudd fish somewhere between 65-70'once. I thought I was casting in to about 50' of water but the line just kept spilling off the reel to an absurd depth. One crank and it felt mushy and the fish was on.

The deepest fish I've ever caught was at Don Pedro, drop shotting, at around 75'.

I've read interviews with Aaron Martens where he's talked about catching bass over 100' deep. I would imagine this is a localized phenomenon on certain clear, deep lakes--and very likely the fish at this depth are un-pressured, if they are fished for at all.

I have caught salty bass on swimbaits in around 90ft but fresh water I would guess around 25 ft. I have caught some in open water that was 80-100ft but the fish were hooked in less than 20ft.

I have caught bass at DVL in excess of 90' before while wormin'. I have marked them in 100-110' in the late summer. I didn't target them out of fear of killing the fish when bringing it up from that depth.

My deepest fresh water swimbait fish was somewhere around 50-60'

My deepest saltwater fish on a swimbait was around 250' (Lingcod) and 190' (Calico Bass!)

30 feet or so. Sometimes you gotta put the bait in there face for them to eat it! ;-)

P.S. Don this board would be dead if it wasn't for you! Keep it up buddy! :o

The deepest swimbait fish Ive caught was 60 feet. And I was CRAWLING the bait on the bottom. We knew the fish were in the area, and when we finally started exploring the abyss we caught them. We got a nice bag out of the deep water that day.

No telling how deep a bass has come from to hit a bait though.

Don, you are getting bored! We gotta get you out on the water.
