I just looked up the Berkley equivalent at Cabelas--the description says it runs off a sealed lithium battery (which should last a long time, but it's essentially a disposable scale) and sells for $29.99. The Rapala is probably comparable in quality/accuracy but it runs off a 9v battery and is a few bucks cheaper so that's what I ended up ordering...
