More good news re: converting the Hanson Aggregate Gravel Pits into a County Park in the Press Democrat today:

That will be very cool. Maybe the club should send a letter to the Board of Supervisors & Regional Parks thanking them for doing this & offering any input we might have. There are at least 4 lakes in there (maybe 6 - I haven't checked the whole thing out yet), river access, etc. That would be an awesome site for a float tube tournament.

Speaking of the Gravel Pits - I may journey there one of the days this long Labor Day weekend (probably early AM for 3 - 4 hours), so if any of you care to join me, give me call this week.
