Well I just finished reading the article "Tubn' Bass: No Stone Unturned" in the May 04 Bassmaster.

I'm dissapointed to say the least! :( Not only did the author hold out on tons of good info, he used 2 good pages comparing float tubes to pastries? :9

If you read this article, I hope you get more out of it then I did. I 'learned' if you will...

It's not THAT awkward

You can fish really, really slow

It would be great for those with a 'beer belly' (the water helps with support)

They resemble 'doghnuts' and 'croissants'

The only true thing they revealed was the amount of access you have to the areas that both boaters and shore anglers do not. I hope that some people (non-tubers) see this as an experience they might want to try. If for nothing else then the relaxation factor. Then maybe more people will see what an addictive sport it can be!

The problem is Jake that the people writing the articles about our sport don't know anything about it.Case in point; Strip Pit bassn' a number of issues ago; The author remarked Ithoght the boat would tip over but it was surprisingly stable in reference to something similar to a kickboat.iDOUBT IF HE KNEW WHAT AKICKBOAT IS.Everyone assumes they know what they are covering.

Good point. Let's remember the the BASSMASTERS are heavily into the boat selling / promoting business too. Also tubing / kickboating isn't as popular in the southeast which is a major stronghold for BASSMASTERS. This sport will take time to move across the country from west to east.
