Well after giving it some thought,We`ll meet ON the lake at 7:00 and weigh-in at 2:00.The top third of whoever shows up gets paid,we`ll keep it inexpensive $20.00 gets you in,$15.00 to enter and $5.00 for big fish. There`s a little twist though NO PRE-FISHING AT ALL!Lets see what happens when we`re all on the same playing field so to speak.Oh yeah,it will be at fountain grove, remember blast off is at 7,if your late thats o.k just find me on the water there will be no penalty. But if you are late you cant ask anyone how they`re doing, its all top secret(lol) untill you kick down some $.Hope to see a few of you out there, cya

And how far is it from White Slough }(

I have Monday and Tuesday off. Plan on heading home early Monday afternoon. I know I probably can't do it, just curious?

It is 102 miles, about 1.5 hour drive (of course not counting traffic)from San Jose (98.1 miles from Whites Slough).

I attached a map if you are interested once you get into Sonoma County.

Going to be in New York so will not make it, plus my boat is too heavy to get to the water.

Have fun everyone!

John

Thanks thats within my distance so I'm just gonna have to play it by ear depends on how much homework I will end up needing to do over the weekend, and whether I go out on friday and saturday. Thanks for the map.

CZ - it is actually a very easy drive at that time in the morning (barring traffic). Just go up 880 cross over to 580 and then 101. I'm not sure what side of San Jose you're on but going through SF can be a pain (not to mention all the lights).

Unfortunately UPS works on that day... ;(

I want to be on the water by 7 so lets say between 6:15 and 6:30.

sounds good to me, but we should shoot for an exact time because you dont really want that gate open for a long time. So how about split those times in half and meet at 620 sharp.

if you need to contact me or anything about new times or something considering that hit me up.

If I were to go there after the delta event, is there anywhere for me to park my truck and crash for the night? No motels :-(
26223, RE: presidents day turkey shoot at...................................................
Posted by Jdub, Wed Feb-16-05 08:24 PM
not at the lake.

Its right off a main parkway, and i would deffinatly not recommend that you stay the night on that street. Right down the street from the lake, ive seen a few cars all with broken windows.

As far as a place to crash, across the freeway is a K-Mart with big parking lot, just south on Mendocino is a big Kaiser Hospital lot. May work? Also real close to the hospital is a Ralphs/Yardbirds huge parking lot.

Hey Jake,

I met you at Spring Lake last season...That same offer still applies I got a futon you can use. My hose to Fountaingrove less than 12 min. The offer is there is for you if you want it...No reason for you to sleep in your truck in a parking lot when I have a hot shower and a warm house!

Thanks Daniel!!!

That's two times you've offered to hook me up :D But again, like last time, I don't have a set schedule. I don't know when I'll be where or doing what so I don't wanna make that commitment. I'm cool sleeping in my truck, my boats on the trailer so I feel safer :P Thanks!

And thanks for the all the maps John. I'll use em!!!!

I may show for this. Wether I fish it or not depends on if I can sell any custom baits to any of you guys. I'll bring along samples of my work which are also for sale.
Call me at 576-0924 if you're interested.

Chris thanks for the offer!

Would I just take the 12 over to the 101? Then north to Mendocina or Fountain Grove PKWY? I've got a brand new 05' Rand atlas, but it's not very clear for that particular stretch.
26294, RE: presidents day turkey shoot at...................................................
Posted by Chris, Fri Feb-18-05 04:16 PM
The easiest & fastest way would be to take the 12 to the 80 and follow the 80 thru Vallejo, to the 101. Take the 101 north to the Bicentenial exit and follow Bicentennial up the hill until you get the lake. The pull-out parking area will be on your left.

:o What was I thinking!!! x(

12 to the 80 to the 37 then to the 101
Dangit, I hope Jake doesn't end up in San Jose or Sac. If somebody sees this post and has his cell #, you might want to give him a heads up.

I'll be at 'Grove about 5:30 for anyone who wants to see my baits and/or order some of their own.

Bring out your dead! :+ I'll bring 'em back to life. }(
