It's almost time. :-) Can somebody help me out with directions? 5 north to...? Tracy Blvd. maybe? then what?

Try I-5 to 205 West, take the Tracy Blvd exit, turn right off freeway, following it to Clifton Court Rd. Take a left on Clifton Court Road, go about a mile or two down and right on Cal Pack Road. Follow Cal Pack up to the levy, go right on the levy all the way to the end. There is a gate across the levy road which should be open. This is just in front of the rock barrier.

IMO the only hard part is spotting Cal Pack Road and that is not to bad as it is the first road entering Clifton Court Road with a stop sign on it (no stop sign on Clifton Court Road, just Cal Pack at the intersection).

Jake, the gate will probably be locked if you go up Saturday. There is a wide spot on the levee road at the sharp corner before you get to the gate where you can pull off and park. We will be opening the gate in the morning to let people in to where we launch.

I might be pre-fishing tomorrow! }( I'll post a full report Monday :+

Thanks for the heads up Mitch! I will be up there Saturday.

Even though the gate will be closed, are there still spots to launch and fish on Sat?

You can launch at teh spot that Mitch mentioned. In fact, this is the easiest place to launch around there. The rock barrier is short row upstream.

Thanks Mike. I'll see how close it is to where I'm going. It can be a pain in the butt to have to turn around with the trailer on sometimes x(

The shack is literally just down the opposite way on tracy blvd as the river. There is a big parking lot also nearby for like a home depot kind of store, the shack is on Grantline and tracy blvd, its a great delta shop and Dave is a real nice guy, also a kickboater till he got his ranger.

and mitch you dont want to prefish that stretch of the river, unless ya dont want to stick a hook in'em so you can point the fish out for me, just kidding, see ya out there prolly not as early as us though ;-)

Chris do you mean I should turn left off of the freeway on Tracy Blvd. Or keep going past Clifton Court?

yeah you would turn left go down tracy blvd. to grantline, there is a jack n crack next to the shack. Either pull in the jack and box driveway or take a right on grantline and then take a right into the parking lot.
