Sweet! Just so I understand:

Do I have to choose a region at the beginning of the year as far as qualifying for the TOC is concerned? Or can I just fish as many tournaments as I can and pick the one I do best in? Also, is there going to be a throw out event in case I have a really bad day (actually I usually have LOTS of really bad days) or miss one?

Thanks for putting together a great schedule!

Buzz There will be more details coming in the future on how the points/weight system for next year will work and how TOC qualifiers will be decided upon for next year. We have the schedule now it will probably take a little bit of time to work out the details on the rest of the stuff.

There will be some changes to how TOC people are chosen this year, with the added region and moving to a "point system" if we go forward on that. Hang tight and we will fill in the details once we work through the various scenarios before going public with the new system.

We have taken into consideration what people have said about BNT tournies over the year and will take your thoughts into consideration as well.

There is certainly a lot that will be rolling out in the near future, so stay tuned :7

Yo Buzz dude,
As far as TOC qualification goes it will still be the top 5 from each region. You don't need to pick any particular region as long as you finish in the top 5 of at least 1 of them. You do need to fish at least 3 regular regional events (in any region) to qualify though. There will be a throw out as far as I know too.

CZ alluded to the changes still in the works. Once everything is set in stone it will be posted here for all to see! Stay tuned... :9

Thanks guys! I really am hoping to fish more tourneys this year and am paying some IT consultants to cover for me while I am out. COsts a buck or two but they're good and help with stuff around here as well.

That would be cool, we surely want to have you back out there dropshotting away ;) I'm sure there are a couple others that want to fish the delta as well, it's going to be an exciting year, we are fishing some spots at different times of the year this year which should make some things interesting.

If your going out of your kickboat which I assume then you will be good to go and can just toss the kick over the gate and pay Lloyd for launching after you get back if your going out of your boat you may just want to launch at Russo's cause they will be open earlier, I'll be there around 7ish cause thats about the earliest I can call Lloyd and wake him up cause they have gone to Winter hours opening at 8.

This does not mean at all though you can not toss your kickboat over the gate and launch whenever.

Super Spooks, Pencil Poppers, and rattletraps will get the stripers.

Mitch,

What are the launch sites like on the Delta Region (other than MR)? Do most of them have ramps (or at least easier access than MR)?

Also, in the TR, is the April tourney supposed to be Los Banos Creek Res or Los Banos Reservoir (BIG difference)?

Thanks,

Hey Gordon I would say most are pretty easy to launch at. Beacon, TWA-old river both are ramps, MR is probably the hardest of the levee drop ins. Mildred is also sort of hard prolly for a yak, but whites on guard rd. is not very steep.

I think you can proly get down and out of the water on any of these spots ina yak and for MR you can always just go down to the sandy point.

Gordon, Middle River is the toughest launch on the schedule next year.
Beacon Harbor and Old River have ramps, Herman @ Helens (really just beyond H&H) has an old wooden ramp to launch off of, Mildred island and Whites are low bank rip-rap which would be fairly easy launches with the kayak.

We were thinkin of you buddy ;-) You to Steve :+

I'm pretty sure the April TR tourney is at Los Banos Creek res.

The schedules look great. But there are a few spots I'm not familiar with. Maybe someone could post a map/maps showing the launch sites using yahoo maps or whatever.

Mildred Island
Herman & Helens
Old River
Los Banos
Rancho Seco
Pinto (I can't believe I still haven't fished here)

mildred is where we had mildred at this year, you could do a search on the forum, I think even someone put up a google map.

old river- we will be launching out of tracy wildlife association same spot as this year, it was the last delta tourney of the year, there should be directions in the forum history.

herman and helens we fished last year as a sundowner and I'm sure there is directions on the forum, it is right near dissapointment.

The TR lakes I don't know I haven't ever fished pinto or los banos myself, but I know we have recently visited all the delta locations within the last two years and there should be plenty of stuff on the locations if you search for it. We'll put up directions a little closer to time of event ;)
