35318, Building a pontoon boat
Posted by quicklearner, Tue Nov-21-06 11:16 AM
I would love to use a one man pontoon boat like I have seen at bass pro, but I don't have $300 to spend. Any ideas or places I could go to make one myself? Thanks for the input!

Get one for $200.. Think safety, not dollars and cents. Click below.

I agree with Steve. It would be safer to buy one and, in the long run, most likely cheaper. You would have to find the steel/aluminum tubing, someone to bend it, someone to weld it and still buy the pontoons. There are great deals out there both new and used.

I've looked into building one myself. I was looking for better performance and just over all better desine. The thing is when your done it will cost you a lot more than the the $300.00
Your best bet is to look at buying a used one. I see them all the time form $100.00 - 200.00
If your just looking at building your own. I was going to make it the same way surf bords are made. You could make the pontoons with build in storage compartments. This would also lighten up the pontoons. But still your looking at some $$$ and if you mess up it's going to cost you well over $300.00
Any way good luck. .

new ODC Sport, 198.99 shipped to your door - but you better be an A's fan with that color scheme...
