really? even with the current pulling you the fins are enough to keep you in place?

Someone once said "I wise man goes with the flow!"
Seriously though you can usually move into areas with less current if it is too strong to kick against. I think someone did have an anchor for a couple of tournaments a few years ago but I cannot remember who it was. I think they gave it up because it was too much to bother with.

You wont have any problems with the current being to strong in any of the areas BNT fishes

On those rare very windy days, I've wished I had an anchor! not so much because of the current, but I can see how lowering and raising an anchor can be cumbersome.

When I still lived in CA (the good "old" days), I fished the delta a lot from a U-boat II. I never used an anchor, though I did occasionally use Brush Grippers to hold the tube in place. My general rule of thumb was that if I couldn't hold position in the current while kicking gently, the current was too strong to fish safely. I now have a FishCat 8 and I use the same logic here in Colorado (while wishing I was back in the delta), except that I exchange "kicking" for rowing.
I admit that there were a few times when the *wind* made me wish I had an anchor, normally because it was blowing me away from the bank so that I couldn't fish effectively. I have an anchor for my FishCat and I have used on occasions to hold position against the wind. On days when I don't have the anchor, I just move locations until I'm sheltered from the wind, or have the wind blowing me towards my target, and then just kick to stay at the optimal range.
