Are you going to Berryessa? Are you planning to take your RV? I'm kinda planning along that line, so you may have company at the campground. I need to check on the price. I think I remember that you said something about being self-contained. Uck, then I have to take it to clean things out. No fun.

Yeah, I'm planning on going and taking the RV. Naci was self-contained ("dry camping"), but I think Berryessa has water/electrical hookups. Last year they put me in a different camping area 'cuz the main area was flooded. It was a nice site, but it was farther from the ramp. Berry had more reasonable rates, as well. I think they charged $15/nite, Naci charged $25 (for NO hookups, winter rates!)

Steve if you camp there you need to be self contained which means you need to have a factory instaled bathroom, that is how they keep tents out.

Wow! I just checked the Steele Park website and they have raised their RV camping fees to $45/nite, plus $20 day use, and $25 launch fee! I guess they're PO'd 'cuz the govmt is going to shut them down soon (along with the rest of the concessionaires on Berryessa), so they're trying to ream the public and make as much money as they can before the end comes...

From their website:

Motel $140.00 per night + tax 2 persons
Cottage $190.00 per night + tax 2 persons
Lakeshore Cottage $240.00 per night + tax 4 persons
Day Use $20.00 per vehicle (2 persons), $4.00 each additional person
Launch $25.00 per vehicle
R.V. Camping $45.00 per night (Maximum 6 persons per site)

Maybe we should change launch to Capell... :-(

I believe that all the prices for the motel/cottages are the same as last year. I am also pretty sure that the day use fee will not apply if you are already staying there as well as the launch fee not applying to kickboats. So everything still seems to be the same prices as last year, except the RV camping and even at $45 per night VS $70 per night you still get the best deal out of everyone!!! :+

It's the 300% increase in prices from last year that has me a little perturbed. Plus they will probably ding me for launch since I'm in a kayak instead of a kickboat. $70/day ($45 camp + $25 launch) is kind of steep -- may make me reconsider attending this one...
I'm just camping & fishing, for goodness sake, not staying at the Hilton and seeing a show! :o

Hopefully when the govt takes over the concessionaires, they'll reduce the rates back to a more manageable level (but I won't hold my breath. ;-)

Gordon, I just called Steele Park and they said that they only charge launch for "anything on a trailer" hope that helps. :7 Sorry Paul : :o

Don't they have "Winter" rates? I'm not paying $45 to Camp without hookups. And I don't recall the $140 for the Hotel. If that were the case then I paid $300 last year when I stayed alone. I would remember that. Too much $$$.

Does anyone want to buy a kickboat, rods and reels and other stuff?

ok guys check it out the hotel is $70 per night and they do not charge us to launch our boats!! Gordon did they charge you last year to launch?? I know this may cost us a bit to stay there but if you remember Spanish flat was $25 per car per night to camp with no hook ups so if you split a site with some one you would get no discount, $50 to sleep on the ground for the weekend!! I am happy to put out a few extra bucks to have a real bed, tv, heat, hot water, maid service, need i go on?? if next year you dont want to fish berry talk it over with the TD and we will see what we can do.

$70 is only half of what the other post said. That's what I paid last year. If someone splits its only $35. Now that makes sense. Does someone want to split a room with an old Snorer?
