Went to Beacon Habor this past Sunday to have a little fun.

Went from 6am to 1pm Air temp 75 in the morning to 88 in the afternoon. Water was 70 - 72 1/2. Tide slack high going out.

My plan was to throw a buzzbait and flip the island while we still had some high water, but I still had the itching to throw a crankbait. After 20 mins with no takers on the buzzbait the crankbait was tied on. 3rd cast parrell with the island fish on 4lbs 9oz, 2 cast later 2lbs 4oz. I knew it was on . I did not touch another rod the rest of the day. Between me and Mike we caught 30 fish with the 4 and a half being the biggest, the rest were solid 2 and a half to 3 pounds.

I'm still having a lot of flash backs of the treble in my finger so I was real slooooow on taking the fish off the hook. In all it was a great day for me but the Open you will need bigger fish then that to be successful. It was also nice to see Mr. Castro out and about catching some toads. I got to see a 9lber on his video phone he caught earlier, a guy in a boat helped him get the shoot. AWESOME!

Speed trap. I started painting my own because the newer ones are real shiny.
