40025, 2008 SCBBBC STATE CLASSIC INFORMATION
Posted by CAUGHTEMCARO, Tue Sep-23-08 10:01 PM
It's that time of year again to come together at Clear Lake in Northern California and fish with the Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club. We're inviting every float tuber and kick boater from around the world to come fish our 24th annual State Classic float tube tournament.

The date will be Oct, 4th and 5th. The location is Clear Lakes State Park camp grounds. We couldn't get the group camp site this year, but the parks Rangers said they would work with us and give us an area and charge us the group site fee. So we're playing it by ear. If you were planning on getting your own sight you might want to get there early as they have a ton of people coming up there that Oct weekend.

The following is the schedule for the weekends festivities. You must have a live well that is built to the SCBBBC rules if you plan to run. If your not planning to run then you will need to be sure to have one of the two clubs live well requirements, SCBBBC or B-N-T.

There will be no prestaging of your boat. You must have your boat at the ramp when you check-in each morning with the President of the SCBBBC. We can run with live fish as we have a DFG permit. You will only be allowed a 3 fish limit. You can only make one move if you catch fish were you ran to. You can not catch fish and then move to another spot a start fishing again unless it's at the State Park only. So if you run to library park and catch fish you can run back to State park and put back in and fish until the weigh-in. All the regular SCBBBC rules will be in affect for this event. I will go over all these details again each morning at the boat ramp.

The cost will be $60.00 per angler. $10.00 for the options of big fish, that's $5.00 for each day as we will pay out 1st place big fish each day. So the total with the options is $70.00. Big Bear Rods is offering a $100.00 gift certificate towards one of there hand made fishing rods to the lucky angler who catches the tournaments largest fish overall.

This years raffle will be the biggest we have ever had as our sponsor team has worked hard to get all the great products we possible could and the sponsors have kicked down big time. Raffle tickets will be $1.00 each. We will raffle off a Bucksbag South fork kick boat Sunday after the awards are handed out. One free raffle ticket will be given to each angler who enters the event just before the Southfork draw. We will have the Saturday BBQ after the weigh-in and we'll be looking for a few volunteers to start the BBQ while we're weighing in the fish. We might even need a cook to. We'll supply every thing, drinks, burgers, dogs, buns and chips. If you want feel free to bring a desert.

We'll have the continental breakfast at the morning check-in at the ramp. So you won't have to fish on an empty stomach. We'll also be handing out Rejuvenate to anyone who needs it.

I'm going up Thursday morning and setting up camp. I will post some information at the main gate as to were I'm camped. So come on up and set up camp and get some prefishing in. Fryday's check-in will be held at Clear Lake Outdoors tackle shop in Lake Port. It's just down the road from Jack in the box. If you can't make it up to the lake until Saturday morning we will check you in at the State Park boat ramp.

I hope I covered everything for you guys, but if you have any question feel free to contact me and I'll try and help you out. I hope to see each and every one of you there.

Should make tackle selection easy. hudd, frog, slammer and big jig is all you would need to bring.

This is probably a silly question, but do I pay my fees at the tackle store if I am coming up Friday?
