4011, big giant worms

I was just wondering how many of you guys have had success fishing "snakes" or large worms. (like 10+ inches) I bought a couple of packs of 12" worms in tequila shad and red shad and tried them at Calero night fishing last night without a bite. Andy was there too and he caught a couple on 10" power worms. Do you think 12 inches is just too big? Does anyone have any tips for fishing them?
thanks
Charlie

Not that I fish them much but 12" is not too big. I've caught 11" bass on the 10" worm. Read Bill Murphy's "Giant Bass" and he talks about using 16" worms. Paul Du-something who caught the giant at Spring a while back uses 24" snakes!

My two cents.

Charlie,
I haven't had much luck on the 12" stuff either but the 10" catches really well for me both day and night. I don't know why I haven't had more luck on the bigger worms, but it probably has to do with the fact that I use the 10" a lot more than the 12". I say keep trying, I'm sure they work.
