Sorry I have been totally slackn on reports this year. Been spending all my time on the water with my son Michael. Its been a mediocre year to say the least. To not have the option to make long runs in big water kinda sux. Taking a year off from tournaments was also a lot more difficult then I ever imagined. I did fish a last minute CBF Clear Lake event in July where I finished 3rd with 20.48. That felt really good and I am ready for fishing tournaments again in 2014.

Spent about 10 hours on the water Saturday. All the time was in the piper - franks area. tide just started to come in as we put the boat on the water. Got on em right away pitchn to outside weed edges with jig and blades. As the tide got higher the bite just about shut down. Once it changed again they started to feed a little and shut down shortly after. I don't think the fish ever left the outside weed line. Usually they don't start to act that way until closer to the end of Oct. Maybe the cool temps lately changed it. 15 fish biggest 4lbs

6 hours on the water Sunday ran Holland and Middle River with a few stops in between. It was cold and windy down south the whole time we were there. I found my green friend the hyacinth but it was packed so tight from the wind it wasn't the money stuff. Caught a few deep in the green leaf but nothing big. Holland was dead as was franks on the way back. Mostly small 13-15" fish for a total of 7.

I am waiting for the 2014 schedules to come out so I can decide what to fish. I will not be running the CBF events so I can pick and choose. Other CBF region, teams, pro ams. Hmmmm

Have you ever fished Havasu?

Reason I ask, it may be where the state classic is for 2014. I am considering fishing the "central coast" Region 7 again.. It's the closest to me.
