I went to Middle river this morning and got on the water at 4:50am so I could ride the tide. It was an incoming for about the first hour and a half then a fast outgoing. I was glad there was no wind to deal with also :)
With the hot weather we had this past week I was hoping for a good frog bite. I love catching frog fish.

I launched and headed straight to the barrier. I was rewarded right away with a 4.5 pounder on a buzzbait. As the sky got brighter I tried to get that frog bite going but it wasn't to be this morning.

Did I mention that there is a lot of hyacinth in MR. There is!

So with no frog bite happening I went to my other favorite bait, the Triple Trout, and started pitching it to the bank where I could find openings in the hyacinth and landed a nice 6 pounder.

I continued to fish my way upstream tossing the TT, and still trying to force a frog bite with a little spinnerbait and buzzbait action tossed in also. I managed to lose another nice fish on the blade when it jumped and spit the hook.

As the tide dropped I did catch a few small blade fish and I did get a couple of blow ups later in the day and caught 2 on kermit but they were also small.

I'm looking forward to next weekends tourney. It will be interesting.
