I was planing on helping. Unfortunely my kids moved to
Colorado with my x-wife a few months ago due to job
transfer. I was planing on fishing afterwards. I don't
have a B-n-T shirt but will wear my cap. If you have
a extra B-n-T shirt in a XL or XXL I will happy to
buy it off you. See you there.

I've recovered from my $55 Berryessa ticket - we just refinanced the house! (I'll just be paying off that $55 over the next **30 years**!!!). :D

Have you got any XXL's, Paul?

I might be able to join you guys for the afternoon. Laura has the day of and I think I have her talked into picking Rebecca up when the derby ends at 11. I'll firm it up and give you a call tonite.
7854, What do I bring?
Posted by Wade, Wed Apr-10-02 08:57 AM
Besides my 6 1/2yr old daughter and 3yr old son, that is. Are they stocking trout specifically for this event? Should I bring a 12 pack of caffiene free soda, extra jars of Powergoo, small trebles, swivels, weights, etc., what's needed?
Of course, I'm talking in addition to the gear I'll bring for me and mine.
Lastly, is there an admission price I'll need to bring cash for and what is it?
Let's all help the next generation get hooked!

Wade

Guys,

Thanks so much for all the enthusiastic responses. Glad you're wearing your shirts and hats. We'll have nametags for you at signup. If you have your children with you, feel free to just enjoy the day, and help them have a successful time. We won't open the gate to anyone till 7am, so don't feel like you have to show up before that. My staff will have signup tables set up from the night before. Here are some of the jobs you might want to do, depending on what time of day you're able to come, and how free you are to move around:

Measure fish. Signup children. Arrange prizes. Decide on categories for prizes (based on who shows up and who catches what). Determine individual scores. Take pictures. Take down chairs, tables, etc. at the end.

One of the most demanding jobs will be to just wander the shoreline and find kids who want help. We always have a lot of single moms, and they've all been promised that there will be help for their children.

There is no fee of any kind for the day. The Lions Club always feeds the staff and volunteers, after they make sure they have enough free hot dogs and sodas for the children. Some people drop coins in their donation box but it isn't required. We'll have snacks in the bait shop, and worms and lures. I am famous for lousy coffee, so you might want to stop at Starbucks on the way if you need fortification for the day.

Some volunteers are coming Saturday night to fish, and then spending the night, and that's free of course. Let me know if you need a hookup. Otherwise just show up and sleep by the lake. We need to keep the gate locked till 7am. That means the people who are here already from the night before will set up and then there will be plenty of other work for the "after 7am" shift (It's hard to open the gate before 7 on Sunday for helpers and not others, because all the kids are afraid the "helpers" are getting the good spots and it just causes ill will.)

Call me at 831-722-8129 or email me at pmcquade@pintolake.com if I can answer any other questions, or if you'll be staying here Sat night. We're looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. Thanks for helping.

Sorry Johnny, It wasn't till a day or two ago I realize this event was on a Sunday. Duh... I know.
I had setup a date to meet with my landlord to go on a walk threw of the house in Stockton on this Sunday.
Thinking I would be helping out on a Saturday???
Talk to you later.

Joe,

I looked at a calendar and STILL thought it was on Saturday. Guess that happens when you get older...first the body then the mind...

Not to get started on this older and younger thing again…
I guess I’m making my steps towards our older team.
My g is turning into Old G?

Are you sure you're looking at the right calendar???? :7

7865, Yeah, saw Brian last night...
Posted by jsmith, Fri Apr-12-02 10:21 AM
He's moving back to the SJ area. What are YOU gonna do, Joey? You gonna stay out there in the valley???

7866, I'm feeling lucky...
Posted by Wade, Fri Apr-12-02 06:28 AM
...(or delusional)! Anyways, after this shindig lets put $5 each into a jackpot for big bass, caught by say 6PM. Let's have it open entry and no rules as to watercraft, so Rob can use the boat and more people will add to the pot. Let's have "lures only" and "live release" rules, and whatever else will work and keep everyone happy.

Tight lines,
Wade
