2286, Coral sea at the Islands
Posted by Stardust, Sat Apr-09-16 04:05 PM
Good afternoon folks, we are returning home from a productive day of island rockfish fishing despite the somewhat gloomy, wet weather today...

With the current still ripping at the islands we opted to forego fishing the deeps this morning and spent out entire day in shallower water ranging from 100-190'. The fishing was a tad bit slow at first but by 11:00 or so the fish became active and our anglers were able to consistently maintain a bend in their rods with mixed rockfish & nice ling cod coming over the rail...

Our grand total for today for our 26 anglers was 104 copper rockfish, 134 misc. rockfish 16 lingcod, 3 ocean whitefish, 2 sheephead, 2 sculpin, and 3 cabezon. Kudos to this group today for sticking it out at the rail even when the rain fell from the skies!

The Stardust has a 3/4 trip scheduled Sunday and might still have a few spots available and the Coral Sea is fishing a 1/2 day trip so please call Sea Landing at 805-963-3564 and reserve your spot on either trip today!
