2287, Shallow water at the Islands
Posted by Stardust, Sun Apr-10-16 05:33 PM
Good afternoon anglers. We are just getting back into cell reception after enjoying a very productive day of Rockfishing in the shallower water between Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa Islands. Myself and the crew had a blast with our group today and everyone did a great job staying at the rail and fishing hard.

We got off the dock this morning with 38 anglers and decided to fish the shallower water with the big load and it payed off. We stuck to our game plan all day and fished anywhere from 150-180 feet deep. The first hour or so was slow for us today however once the conditions straightened out we were able to make long drifts and had steady fishing on both Coppers and other assorted rockfish. Better action on the Lingcod as well for us today with the anglers fishing the live Anchovie on a dropper loop ending up with 39 legals.

Our 38 anglers ended the day with 217 Coppers, 115 Rockfish, 39 Lingcod, 1 Cabezon, 2 Whitefish and a Sheephead.

We are 1/2 day fishing Tuesday/Wednesday, 3/4 day Thursday, Friday & Sunday. Call Sea Landing at 805 963-3564 by 5:45 PM to make reservations and let's go fishing.
