Stardust

3/4 day 7.23.17

Hello everybody, we are just heading back across the channel now while the crew processes today's catch and the passengers are enjoying burgers. We had absolutely beautiful weather today and decent fishing.

Our plan was to run in between Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz to start the day but when we got in there the current was ripping so we kept running up the island a ways and started looking for some lingcod first thing. We had a few stops to start the day which produced practically nothing but the further we drove he fishing improved.

We soon found some spots willing to give us lingcod and rockfish. We used a lot of live bait today on dropper loops but the jigs were getting bit also. We never got into fully wide open fishing but we did have a few stops that were very fun, they would bite fast and furious right away then die down soon after.

For our 40 anglers today we caught 139 rockfish, 3 ocean whitefish and 66 lingcod. The stardust is running a 1/2 day trip tomorrow and has lots of room. You can Just show up tomorrow!! 1/2 day Tuesday & Wednesday are a go as well. Feel free to book spots now for upcoming trips on our website or call the Sea landing at 805-963-3564.
