Please excuse my ignorance but what is a line winder?I'm interested in the reel but I have never heard of that.

The proper term is level wind. The mechanism that places the line on your reel in a level fashion by moving side to side.

No need for you to be sorry - I was the one who used the incorrect term in the first place :) Kind of like saying pole instead of rod or sweeper instead of vaccuum cleaner.
