This is the Fish Arrow Flat Jack, same company that makes the Monster Jack. It's about 4 or 5" long and is apparently something of a waking surface bait without a lip. I checked it out but haven't seen it swim in the water. Tacklewarehouse has them in stock in 5 colors.

Optimum T's Refrex has been around for a while and Tacklewarehouse has them now in 3 colors. The bass color is pretty nice looking.

Has anyone tried the Flat Jack? TW ran out before I could order one, was wondering how the bait moves in the water and what kind of action ir produces.

Thanks,

JUANCHO

look like they are back in stock now. I saw the bait, but have not seen it in the water. I think it may fish like a spittin' image on the surface, but I'm not sure. If you get one, give us an update on how it fishes :)

Thanks for the heads up Rob, i just called TW and ordered one in the Silver Ayu color. I'll give it a try this weekend and see if it produces, i'll shoot some MPEG video of it and send it to you so that you can check out the action.

Take care and as always thanks for the valuable information that you put out in your site.

Juancho.

Hey Juan, did you ever get a chance to throw the bait around? Just curious to hear some feedback.

Hi Rob,

Have not had the chance, I had two of my cars stolen a couple of weeks ago in Mexico so i've been tied up with all the red tape in retrieving them from TJ, luckily they were both found and in pretty good shape. I have not touched the water in a month now, my fingers are starting to curl up so i need to desperately get on the water. Tomorrow i'll be heading offshore for some of those yellowfins and dorados and hopefully next week my truck will be ready and i can tow my boat. As soon as i get on the water i'll shoot some video and i'll send it. I hope you are nailing some hogs up there and talk to you soon.

Take care.

oh man, that's a huge bummer x(. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the offshore action, and I hope you get back out there soon for the bass.

Hi Rob,

Well i finally got a chance to try out that Flat Jack swimbait, it is basically a topwater bait that walks the dog, i like it because it is real easy to work and also because it does catch fish, nothing huge yet but it did produce a 5 and 6 2 weeks ago. I didn't have the camera with me so no Video yet, this Sunday i'll be on the water again and i'll make sure i bring it. This bait would probably be also good as a dead stick bait, as it stands in the water just like a normal bluegill would and it moves with the current real well.

I just ordered a "Real California" from Lucky Craft and also a Dagored from Jackall Bros. from Tackle Warehouse they look nice so we'll see how the action is and if they produce next weekend.

Hope your catching some hawgs up there, take care and talk to you soon.

Juancho.

Cool - very cool - thanks for the update on the baits. A topwater that actually looks like a bluegill - imagine that :) Sounds good to me.

Hi Dan,

I believe they are Gamakatsu round bend's, i have the box at home so i can't confirm for sure but i seem to recall seeing the Gamakatsu logo on the box. Great bait so far, no monsters yet, but it should be just a matter of time. I will be going to Lake El Salto in Mexico the second week of January, apparently the bait resembles the Tilapia that they have over there so we'll see how it produces. I will post a report when i get back.

Good Luck.

JUANCHO
