Well it's almost that time of year to think about that goals for next year, so lets hear them :)

Last year my goal was to get a lake record somewhere and it didn't happen... in fact I never felt like I was even close really, so that's still my goal for this year. My other goal this year is to win a team tournament somewhere besides Don Pedro.

Good Luck Rob!

My main goal is also left over from last year:
Really would like to set a new personal best for tuna, 150+ would do but I really want to break the 200 lb. mark. Probably should have been on a long range boat this fall.

Making the top 10 in the SWBA (Salt Water Bass Anglers) series is also a primary goal.
A challenging one at that considering the level of competition, the small (but growing) amount of time I actually dedicate to calico fishing & the unfamiliar waters the series covers. Last year Karl (OkieBug) & I finished 11th even after winning the only event on my home waters.

The past 3 years our season has really revolved around the Wester Outdoor News - Saltwater Series, which has served us well. Finishing 6th 2 yrs. ago, 1st last year & 2nd by only 3 points this year which was tough to swallow. We don't want to let that happen again this year but from what I understand the series is going through a major overhaul & will be a different animal next year so I have no idea what to expect at this point.

Good Luck to all on your individual goals!

Josh

Well, I had three goals for this year (2005) and I only accomplished one of them, but it was the one I wanted most. Never did win a tourny from the backseat, and I didnt get my friend on a 10 pounder (but he didnt commit to it, so its not my fault:P ). I did get my teener though, so its all good.

My goals for the upcoming year are to get 10 bass over 10 (something I easily should have done this year, but hey, I learned sooo much by losing those fish), weigh in a 10 plus in a tourny, stick a 15 plus, win a team tourny, and somehow make progress towards buying a tournament bass boat.

Wow, that seems like alot.

I still want to get a 6+ on a frog, and a new PB on a swimbait(9.75 is my current PB). Added to this years list is that I want to learn Folsom Lake (consistently catch fish) since it is so close.

Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what have-yous

Well.... Last year I set a ridiculous goal that I could never meet so that I'd be constantly challenged to keep fishing. My goal was to stick 10 over 10 and have one of them be over 15.
Its been about 12 months now and to my astonishment I landed 10 over 10 with the largest going just over 17! I must say, its been a few months now since I met my goal and I still can't believe how much I've learned in the last year and I want to thank everyone who has taught me, answered questions, or fished with me! This year was awesome!

Next year.... I want 20 over 10, plain and simple. I believe I hooked them this year and I just made mistakes. (that's a part of learning.) On top of that I'd like to get another over 15 and if possible, I want it to come out of a big lake (Folsom, Pedro, or Berryessa). This year I was very consistant with my tourney fishing but I was consistantly near the top, not at the top. I want to WIN a bigger event this year. Its a lot to ask but its not unreachable!

I want more time tuna fishing (like overnight to 3 day stuff) this season and better tuna fishing than last year's sucky-ness, a LMB in the teens, and more time on the water. Not hard to please over here.:P

Bassfly,
I was checking out your gallery, those are some great looking cutthroat trout :) Getting a 10lb brown is like getting a 15+ bass, and doing it on a fly is even harder. Good luck!

well 2004 was good for me, 2005 i had good numbers but no bigguns, 06 i want a dbl digit striper, i had 1 on last year that was close to 20lbs but lost it at the boat, also i would like a trout over #5 , i have 1 4lb'er and the rest smaller, 2004 gave me my 1 and only 10lb+ bass and a 12lb king salmon off the newport jetty wich is fairly rare. so a d.d. striper, and a 5lb trout, not too hard is it ? lol good luck all in your quests
