#11283, "Butch Brown's Boat"

In the "Net" topic there was a reference to Butch's videos showing how he nets fish in a small boat. Does anyone know what he is fishing out of in the videos on the Huddleston website?

Just curious :-)

Thanks,
Tim

Butch's boat is cool. I don't know what kind of boat it is, but he has it set up strictly for big bass on electric motor. The last time we BS'd on the lagoon he had a 48 volt tolling motor (pontoon boat style transom mount) with 4 Optima blue tops ( and a Motorguide up front.

His graph was something like a Lowrance LCX-111HD. The rear seat is a huge livewell. The boat is very low to the water and hauls butt. I'd like to know what net Butch is using because it's similar to the pro-mar net but a little smaller and looks easier to handle by yourself. He definitely knows how to use it fishing solo!

Rob -

Thanks for the response! I had never heard of the electric outboards and that sounds like a great setup.

That may become my main propulion solution for a new rig as most of the Seattle area lakes I fish are "electric only" or "no wake".

I'm off to ponder mod-v jon boat models.

Tim

Tim we used to ravage the lil electric only lakes with a 14ft jon and 36v 101 minn kotas - they will cut through pretty much all the junk that you will see up here in WA.

Thanks for the additional input.

Another idea that was sent to me mentioned going with a steerable trolling motor on the front and a fixed trolling motor on the back. With this setup, you could have both set to high speed to run long distances while using the front to steer. I think one of those Tommy Martin Big Foot trolling motor switches could be installed in the front so I could turn on/off the back motor without having to change positions.

Lots of different ideas to ponder and price.
