Ok I know, there's been a few how do you say .. blatant exaggerations on the Bassmaster Magazine lunker page in the past. But this months Magazine deserves special credit for the most all time bogus exaggeration ever :D There's a pic on the bottom right of some guy holding a fish that might go 12 pounds if it was 30 inches long and the weight claimed on the fish is 18lbs 1oz. I always like to look at the pics but please Bassmaster, use a small amount of common sense when people submit stuff like this LOL.

Rob, classic- I always thought that was put in the mag for comedy purposes- I guess it would be in bad taste to send in a pic of a 4 pounder and claim it as a double digit and see if they print it?? }(

we could get a pool together and bet on which guy's 18" fish gets the nod for BASS trophy- Mullet wigs would be a plus

my guess is the guy with the longest arms wins

You're right Rob, this is a joke! That bass might be 18 lbs if that guy is 11 feet tall. The fish is a typical state of Florida lunker: really long with a huge head and no girth. Since you have to include length and girth measurements to get on the Lunker Page, I wonder what numbers he made up. Check out this story about a really big Florida bass:
(You have to go halfway down the page to get to it.)

I always go to the photos page first, and I bout fell off the toilet when I saw that "18 plus". Thats the most blatant lie I think Ive seen in a long time.

But lunker larry looks good (snicker!), and no doubt that fishs weight is reported honestly.

PS: The new look is awesome.

Ya know, I haven't seen an issue of Bassmaster for many months. :-(
I guess that's what I get for renewing through the club at a tourney rather than directly. Not that anyone did anything wrong. Just that it's taking a long, long time for BASS to catch-up and send me magazines again.

....the 18 something in the lunker pages of BassMaster is a new official state record. The article said that 17 something was the recognized FL state record (unofficial is 20 something). So, I wonder if the fella in BassMaster knows he stuck a new state record?

Ya know, I bet its a typo by BassMaster. Has to be.

p.s. i ordered my magazine subscription from bass pro online, the ad stated a "free membership kit",after a few months i never got my kit,and bass in an email said there not sending one/honoring the ad,after bitching at bass pro shops nicely ,they offered me 3 free lures to sooth my pain.yeah i got them for 2 live pointer 110 sp's and a new sammy. sweeeet! later after threatening to pull m ysubscription bassmaster mag sent email recently saying my kits on its way. that was awin/win situation.:-)
