If you're fishing the SF Bay area, definitely try a 9" MS Slammer or a 6" Big Hammer. I fished the beach around Pacifica a few times this summer and there were times when those baits were getting bit really well and other guys were not getting so much action. I didn't get any real big fish but 8 to 18lbers were totally average. It's pretty fun when your Slammer gets by the surface and they nail it :)
