Interisting! I have never thought of it that way. For the most part I throw white to get a reaction(I think?). I have used white grubs and tubes for years. Recently I find my self with a white swimbait tied on pretty much always.
For us fisherman standing above the water looking down, white baits almost apear to glow. I guess if you were a fish looking up it might have the opposite affect and almost dissapear? For the most part I try to fish very natural colors. Colors that seem to almost blend into their surrounding. Maybie my white baits are doing just that? I started using white to look bright and stand out. Maybie I'm actualy blending in? Either way its working.
If the white baits fade in open water and stand out aginst cover structure or darker back grounds. You cast into open water and retrieve twards your target zone that is most likely a darker back ground. The fish dosent get a chance to get a good look at your bait until its in the money zone? THUNK!!!
