#7984, "So did you read the article in Bassmaster about the Per..."

This month in Bassmaster they had an article about the world record bass which focused on a photo that surfaced recently that they think may be the George Perry 22lb 4oz fish. The pic has been going around online but I'm not sure who has the rights to it so I'm not going to post it here. But you can look around and you'll find it.

I gotta say, in the past Bassmaster has actually done a decent job of digging up info on the WRB and this article, although it was a bit confusing to read, made it sound like it was probably not a hoax pic. The real questions that haven't been answered are - who is in the pic (it's a not a pic of George Perry) and can anyone verify it's really a pic of that fish. If you look at the pic, it's a really big fish. 22-4? I don't know, but it's a big one that could very well be over 20. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it.

Now, one other thing I gotta comment on... In Ray Scott's column in the front of the mag he seems to think that there is a rule at Dixon lake that requires all bass be released. Please someone send a memo to Ray and let him know that's not the case. If someone gets the record at Dixon they can put it on ice and gift wrap it to the IGFA if they want.
