I've noticed that alot of kickboaters have fish finders on them. Is there a seperate mobile package for use on pontoons/tubes? How do you rig yours? Tight Lines.

Checkout the Fishin Buddies,(look at Bass pro shops) They are a good unit to start out with and you can rig them up real easy next to your float tube or kick boat.

O.K., I know most of the fish finders are designed to mount to a boat, but are they easy or better yet compatable to mount onto a railing to the frame of most kick boats? The pics of fish finder mounted kick boats on this page and others appears to show the units mounted onto a factory railing. Can it be done without buying additional items? I am planning to buy a Trout Unlimited Colorado Pontoon Boat and wish to mount a Humminbird Piranah series or the Eagle Cuda series onto one of the front railings.

You will need to buy a RAM rail mount adaptor. You can get them from BPS or Cabela's if you don't have a marine shop nearby.

If you read through the archives, there are a lot of details on how people have mounted different units on different boats. There are even pictures of hardware and supplies not found in the photo section. You just have to take the time to do a little research ;-)
