Nice looking baits. I've been wanting to pour my own baits but thought it was too expensive and time consuming.

E-man,

It can be tedious more than anything, when you start you basicly say F### this is too hard! But after you get the hang of it you will be more than happy you did! As for the cost it is really free to me, say I buy 5 senko molds @50.00ea once I pour about <1000 senkos I have made my money back. You can really rack up sales if you start creating unique colors that no one else if offering especially on senkos. If you do decide to start I will be happy to give you any advise you need.

Taylor,

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll look more into it. I've been wanting to make my own hand pours for a while, mainly for personal use. What is roughly the start up cost and where do you purchase your supplies? Thanks!

Here is a kit for making senkos http://del-mart.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=54&products_id=112
This is a pretty good deal you get everything you need. You can get a cheaper senko mold that has one flat side but I would suggest just buying the aluminum oneto start out it makes an exact copy of the yamamoto.

e-man,
To start up I would say you could probably get a good little assortment of molds from www.lurecraft.com and a gallon of plactic a few colors of colorant and glitter for 100 or less. I am sure you could get it cheaper or much more expensive just depends of what exactly you want to get. It does really turn out to be much cheaper than buying pastics overall especially if you use many senkos! Call this # and request a free lure craft catalog 1-800-925-9088 they have alot of molds and colors but I highly suggest this plastic over the lure craft
http://del-mart.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=33_55&products_id=47
also check out these kits http://del-mart.com/store/index.php?cPath=54&osCsid=299b410111c1936d9d2ca0cea82ea795
the aluminum molds are much more expensive than anyother molds but...will out last them 100:1 they are great I use mostly alluminum molds now.

Hope this helps out abit

Taylor

Taylor, thanks for all that info. That kit at Del-Mart has my interest. I figure I can try that out and if I decide I don't like it at least the initial investment won't be too bad.
